Terms & Conditions

These terms apply when you ask us to arrange locksmith work. They are written to be read, not to hide things.

Last updated: 8 September 2026

1. Who you are dealing with

Locksmith Boksburg operates this website and arranges 24 hour mobile locksmith work across Boksburg and the surrounding East Rand. Work may be carried out by an independent locksmith we work with rather than by an employee — see our Referral Marketing Disclosure. We are a mobile service with no walk-in premises.

2. Quotes and prices

You are given a price on the phone based on what you describe. That price is confirmed on site before work begins. If the job on arrival is materially different from what was described — a different lock, a transponder key rather than a plain cut, damage that was not mentioned — the attending locksmith must stop, explain, and give you a revised price. You are free to decline at that point.

Any call-out fee that applies is disclosed to you on the phone before we dispatch. Prices published on this website are indicative only and are not quotations; see our Disclaimer.

3. Proof that you are entitled to access

For any lockout, whether property or vehicle, we require identification and reasonable evidence that you are entitled to access it — a lease, a utility bill, a vehicle registration document, or similar. We will refuse the job if it is not produced, and a call-out fee may still be payable. This is not bureaucracy: it is the only thing standing between a locksmith and helping someone break into your home.

4. Payment

Payment is due on completion unless something else has been agreed in writing beforehand. Accepted payment methods are confirmed when you book. Please do not send card numbers or banking credentials over WhatsApp or by phone.

5. Cancellation

Call us as soon as you know you no longer need us. If you cancel before a locksmith has been dispatched, there is nothing to pay. If a locksmith has already travelled to you, a call-out fee may be charged to cover that. If nobody is present when we arrive and we cannot reach you, that counts as a cancellation on arrival.

6. Damage and forced entry

Non-destructive entry is always attempted first. Some locks, particularly high-security and certain vehicle locks, cannot be opened without damage. Where that is the case you will be told before we proceed, together with the cost of replacing what has to be destroyed, and you decide whether to go ahead.

We are responsible for damage caused by our own negligence. We are not responsible for pre-existing faults, wear, or damage caused by attempts you or anyone else made before we arrived.

7. Workmanship

Work is carried out with reasonable skill and care. Parts we supply carry the manufacturer’s warranty. If our workmanship fails, tell us and we will return to put it right. Report any problem as soon as you notice it — the sooner we hear, the easier it is to establish what happened.

8. Limits on liability

We are liable for loss that we actually caused. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — missed appointments, lost earnings, or the knock-on effects of a delay.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, and nothing here excludes liability for death, personal injury, fraud or gross negligence. Where a term in this document conflicts with the Act, the Act wins.

9. Your personal information

How we handle your details is set out in our Privacy Policy.

10. Complaints and governing law

If you are unhappy with anything, our Complaints Policy explains how to raise it and what happens next. These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa.
